Hi everyone, how was your Christmas? Did you get to spend it with your family? I spent Christmas with my family in Whistler, which is a dream come true because it is one of my favorite places in the world. My brother and I have always come here to ski, but it wasn’t until January of this year that my parents tried skiing for the first time thanks to Whistler Never Ever Days, and they loved it so much that they bought their own gear, continued taking lessons, and bought a pass to a local mountain. God is so good! We’ve been here for over a week now and I’m beginning to feel like a local. My brother has skied every single day and didn’t take a break until today. He and my mom are back on the slopes tomorrow while I drive back to Vancouver for an important Afternoon Tea at church, then in the evening I’m coming back with my friends Alyssa and Dhruv – I can’t WAIT to see them!
Some highlights so far:
– Hanging out with my family. Sometimes they make me laugh so hard that I get stomach cramps and tears come out of my eyes.
– Seeing Hunger Games. Every minute that I have to wait for the third movie is torture!
– Seeing Frozen. Growing up, I wanted to work in music composition and arrangement for Disney. The score for this movie brought back those feelings for me.
– Hanging out with my friends Stanley and Yidi at the Four Seasons.
– Hearty homemade breakfasts consisting of eggs, pancakes or waffles, and croissants every morning! Pancakes have tasted even better since I treated myself to a bottle of Noble bourbon maple syrup.
– Skiing! Blackcomb has been amazing, as always, and it was fun to check out runs I’ve never skied before in Whistler. Word of caution to anyone skiing with my brother – he’ll take you some crazy places! I had to climb out of a very scary run with steep ridges because yolo was just not a good enough reason.
– My special Whistler-edition Roots sweatpants. You like?
SWEATER: Banana Republic / SWEATPANTS: Roots / SNOW BOOTS: The North Face (the only footwear I brought with me to Whistler) / SCARF: Roots (similar) (I got this from the men’s section. Last one in the store! Sorrynotsorry, Whistler guys.) / WATCH: Daniel Wellington / LIPS: Lancome L’absolu Rouge in Rose Petale
