Hi everyone! I wanted to share a summer outfit with you (featuring a floral cold-shoulder top and denim shorts) and give you a quick life update.
Life Update: New home!
I think the biggest life update is that Damon and I are moving to a new home! We bought a new place last December (wow can’t believe that was 7 months ago) and it’s been undergoing an extensive renovation since April. By the time our renovations are finished (our fingers are crossed for next week), the only thing that’s original will be the guest shower and everything else will be brand new and custom designed by us with our interior designer.
In the past seven months we’ve reviewed countless drawings, specs, estimates and images and looked at numerous samples. This was a new process for both of us and I really enjoyed the experience. I loved making decisions with Damon and he handled the communication, finances, and everything so well during what was probably his busiest and most stressful season of work ever. I am so thankful to have a partner who does things the right way. I can’t stress that enough and it’s by far my biggest thanksgiving through the whole process. Damon hired an interior designer and a general contractor so we’ve had professionals working to create our vision from the very start. Damon never once tried to cut corners and since DIY is neither our interest nor our strength (and we both have full time jobs), he never once suggested it. I love him so much!
A thousand decisions and one meltdown later (I promise to write a post on our renovations), we are so close to moving in!
Moving & Packing
We are taking some time off this week and next week to pack up our lives and move everything over to our new place. Our new place is not quite ready yet – unfinished kitchen and no plumbing lol – but I’m praying that everything will arrive and be installed in time. We’ve made decisions on most of our new furniture and I spent a small fortune on Canada Day weekend ordering new dinnerware. I can’t WAIT to host our families and friends!
Any tips for packing and moving?

This look is so cute and summery, Jenny! Perfect for a balmy weather date night.
I’ve been following your reno with interest and it sounds like everything is coming together and it’s going to be great in the end. Can’t wait to see the results when you’re all moved in and unpacked and you’ve decorated! And good for you and Damon for recognizing your strengths/weaknesses and where you could save yourself bucketloads of stress by just throwing money at the problem haha. I was like that during wedding planning too.

Thank you Lisa! And yes, I’m totally with you on saving ourselves loads of stress! But funny enough, speaking of DIY, we didn’t DIY our renovation but we 100% DIYed our move LOL. Since we’re not moving any furniture we moved all of our boxes ourselves. Made about 35 trips in our cars haha. A friend of mine was moving this weekend and I saw a photo of a moving truck on her instagram story and I was like “oh that would have been nice”. Hahaha oh well. Someone told me I lost weight today so I guess moving boxes is good for something.
