Sunscreen is such a pain. I live in a city that rains more than one-third of the year, and even though they say that UV rays penetrate through clouds, it’s really hard to slather on sunscreen when I don’t see the sun. Most sunscreens have an unpleasant smell that reminds me of sweaty summer camp kids, make my face oily, and make applying make-up afterward impossible. Unfortunately, there’s no avoiding it, because sun damage equals wrinkles and sun spots, and those are expensive to remove. There is only one sunscreen that I can happily apply to my face everyday. The Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion is a light non-greasy sunscreen that has a staggeringly high protection of SPF 55. Its active ingredient is zinc oxide, and surprisingly, it leaves no white residue on my face or clothes and absorbs incredibly fast (I usually apply it after my face lotion). It is subtly scented with a pleasant scent I like to call ‘Doesn’t Smell Like Sunscreen’. Give it a try! The Shiseido sun protection line also has a creamier version that’s more moisturizing. Even though summer is almost coming to an end, let’s keep protecting our skin.
