Every year before the start of summer Sephora comes out with what I deem to be their most useful set of the year, the sunscreen set. Last year I was late to the game and by the time I realized the set was available, it was already sold out online and in all the stores within driving distance. I had to ask my friends across the border if they could please support my skincare addiction by going to the Sephora nearest them and picking up a set for me.
This year’s version of the kit is the Sun Safety Kit ($41 CAD), a set with 15 travel-sized SPF products including 11 travel-size sunscreens, 1 CC cream, 1 BB cream, 1 self tanner, 1 lip balm, and a travel bag (not the one in my photo). Some of items are already tried and true for me, such as AmorePacific Natural Protector SPF 30 and Shiseido Wetforce Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 50. Some of them have become new favorites, such as Murad Invisiblur Protector Shield SPF 30, which is a unique primer and sunscreen in one that works quite well.
Sadly and most unfortunately, the kit is already sold out online :'(. However, it should be available in stores. I think this set is great for travel, for carrying sunscreen in your bag, and for putting in your car (so you remember to protect the back of your hand). The full size versions of those sunscreens are not cheap, and I think the risk of buying fancier sunscreens is the tendency to use less. With sunscreen, the rule is definitely the more the better. With this set – only $41 – you don’t have to be stingy with it.
NEXT BEST THING: Even though the Sun Safety Set is no longer available, the next best thing is the current Sephora promotion. Right now you get 9 free sunscreen samples with any purchase with code SUNSET.
