I love the way fire escapes look and I think they’re the quintessential feature of New York architecture. My concerns with building security aside I think they add so much character to a building. Having a photoshoot on our fire escape was a no brainer though I had doubts about its structural integrity. I sat on the window ledge for a bit then slowly transferred my full weight on the platform. There’s a black plaque on the railings with a warning that a certain activity on the fire escape, like perhaps storing things (the letters were very faded), or maybe photoshoots, would incur a fine of $15. Assuming inflation is not included it would have been totally worth it.
Pretty photos! I absolutely adore those ankle boots! What a neat idea to take photos on a fire escape. I’m actually afraid of heights but it makes for a fun background!
Thank you Stephanie! It was a bit scary at first!
Agreed, those boots are lovely — looking through all the different outfits you’ve worn them with makes me realize how versatile they are.
Thanks Alyssa! I wear them more than I’d like to admit. They give me the height gain that I desperately need and are comfortable to walk in.
What an old building. I think you add some modern contrast to NYC. Good Job, Jenny!
