As promised earlier this week in 10 Ski and Snowboard Essentials, here are photos of my own ski outfit!
Most of my ski clothes are from Helly Hansen, one of my favorite brands. Helly gear is high quality and comes in lots of great styles. I’m wearing a Helly Hansen Lifa Warm base layer (made with wool, very comfortable and not scratchy at all), Helly Hansen jacket (similar), and Helly Hansen ski pants. Sometimes I wear a First Ascent base layer tank under my Helly crewneck for a little more core warmth. My helmet is from Bern, and I just love the cute visor. It looks very equestrian to me. They come in other colors here and here. The rest of my family wear K2 audio helmets.
As for goggles, I’ve always worn Oakley and recently purchased an Asian fit style (I think mine is Crowbar), which has a narrowed and deepened bridge for a better fit around the nose to minimize gaps and prevent fog. I highly recommend it. I wear leather and shearling mittens from MEC (most similar to this one), which keep my hands nice and cozy and still look new even though I’ve had them for 3+ years. Also you just can’t beat MEC policies and customer service. I originally purchased a pair of gloves but they couldn’t stand up to the temperatures at the peak, so I went back to and exchanged them for a pair of mittens. See this post for similar styles.
My neck warmer is a Whistler Blackcomb branded product but is identical to this one. Everyone in my family has one and they make a great gift for fellow skiers and snowboarders.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this post! If you aren’t already following along, I hope you’ll start following me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter for daily updates that you won’t get here.
