I love asking people what they got for Christmas so I thought I’d share some of the amazing gifts I received over the holidays. I got some really cool things that might give you some inspiration if you needed ideas for spending a gift card or for buying any upcoming gifts. My birthday falls close to Christmas so my list is a combination of Christmas and birthday gifts. My family, who does not partake in the traditional giving of presents on birthdays and Christmas (I don’t remember getting birthday gifts growing up, for reals), surprised me this year with gifts. Even my little brother handed me a gift bag at my birthday dinner. The gestures alone mean so much to me but the fact that they gave me things they thoughtfully selected and that I can use on a daily basis (e.g. tea, bathrobe, and mug) continues to make me so happy. Excuse me, there is sand in my eyes.
Last year I went through an experience which I shall call The Life-Changing Magic of Getting Your Belongings Stolen. My boyfriend gave me a purse for Christmas to replace the one I lost. I can only attribute that gesture to love because he’s always considered women’s bags to be an impractical extravagance and no more functional than plastic grocery bags. I love it and carry it to work everyday. I’ve worn it in my two previous outfit posts here and here.
I just noticed I didn’t include the flower crown that Damon gave me for my birthday. A flower crown! That seriously deserves its own post so I’ll talk about that next week. Other gifts from family and friends include an adorable comic book about friendship, an impressively heavy book on everything related to Italian food, homemade gifts, sweet notes, a blanket scarf, a hydrating sleeping mask, fancy Earl Grey from France, and Brain Dust, which is on my friend Catherine’s Instagram story every morning and which I’ve been dying to try. Catherine probably got tired of me commenting on every photo with hearts-for-eyes emojis and figured the only way to silence me was to give me my own Brain Dust. Now I can finally try its magical dust-y brain-enhancing powers! That plus the Super Elixir should make me live for-literally-ever.
I obviously want to know what you got for Christmas, so please tell me in the comments below! Would you be interested in knowing what gifts I gave for Christmas?
