If you haven’t ordered the December Mapleblume box, I would do so right away because they only have a few left. This month’s contents are amazing. If you’re shopping for gifts, one idea is to split up the contents and gift some, keep some (though it would be hard to decide what to keep and what to gift!). I was pretty excited about all of the items and they were all keepers. I have been using all of the items from the moment I received the box and I think you will love them too. Scroll down to see the individual items!
Here are the items:
GingerChi Jade Roller and Regenerating Serum, $39.45
OY-L Face Cream, $73.32
Nuori Vital Hand Cream, $49
Nuori Lip Treat in New York tint, $39
Sundays No. 2 Polish, $23.70
Sundays Top Coat, $23.70
I have been wanting to try a jade roller for months! I was very excited when I found out a jade roller would be in the December box. I’ve been rolling my face with the GingerChi jade roller as soon as I received the box. I roll it in an upwards motion all over my face, concentrating on where I experience a lot of tightness like the jaw area, and where I want to reduce puffiness such as the undereye area. The travel size serum that came with it is very nice and has a lot of essential oils. I don’t like getting oils on my roller so I prefer to use the roller before applying the serum.
Next item in the box is the OY-L face cream, which has the most amazing whipped texture I have ever seen and touched. It’s like icing and softened butter. It’s whipped to a perfect texture that melts into my skin. It feels like such a treat to apply. The ingredients are completely clean with zero chemicals. It’s made up of (I’m going to include the whole list here): sweet almond oil, avocado oil, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, squalane, evening primrose oil, seabuckthorn oil, rosehip oil, carrot oil, apricot kernel oil, lavender oil, frankincense oil, hemp seed butter, Abyssinian oil, pomegranate oil, prickly pear oil, and lecithin. A tiny bit of the cream goes a long way. It’s a lovely cream and feels very nourishing. It smells wonderful and gives me a very healthy glow. I’ve tried the OY-L body butter as well, which also has a delectable whipped texture. Give this brand a try if you haven’t already. You’ll love the texture and the ingredients!
My first impression of the Nuori line was how much I loved the packaging. How chic is the white and yellow design? It’s so pretty and modern. Nuori’s founder created the skincare line after learning how a product’s shelf life correlates to its effectiveness. Products are manufactured in Denmark in small batches every 12 weeks without artificial preservatives or synthetic additives, and each product is marked with an expiration date. For example, the expiry date on my two products are April 8, 2019.
The Nuori Vital Hand Cream has a very light and beautiful orange-vanilla scent and deeply moisturized my hands without being greasy. It contains squalane, shea butter, grape seed oil, and almond oil. It looks like it would be a squeeze tube like most hand creams, but when you take off the cap it’s actually a pump, which is very unique. I love how it made my dry winter hands feel, and I love that it made a real difference in my skin.
I LOVE the Nuori tinted Lip Treat. Tinted lip balms are very hit or miss and rarely deliver on both the color payoff and the moisturizing properties. The Nuori lip tint is amazing! The New York shade is a berry shade. It’s sheer with the subtlest shimmer (very very subtle), and to my pleasant surprise the tint actually shows up on my lips. Another thing that blew me away was how nourishing and moisturizing the lip treat was on my lips. I don’t even want to talk about how dry my lips have been (*quiet sobs*). This lip treat felt SO good on my lips. The sweet almond oil, apricot oil, and shea, avocado and cocoa butters made my lips feel and look amazing. I will be splurging on this one when I finish the tube.
The last two treats in the December box are the Sundays No. 2 Polish and Sundays Top Coat. What a treat to get a nail polish set! I don’t use a base coat because I find my nail color lasts longer without a basecoat, so getting a color and a topcoat was perfect!
I took a photo of the No.2 color on my hands. Please ignore my cuticles. The No. 2 color is very runny, which is consistent with all light colors, and it takes about 4 coats to get an even opaque coat. Once you get to that opaque level, it starts to look really good. It’s a very lovely neutral, like what Meghan Markle would wear to tea with the Queen (which I guess is all the time these days?). The top coat was super easy to use. One layer of the top coat made my diy manicure look super polished.
My favorite beauty box ended the year with a super lovely box full of items that I immediately incorporated into my skincare and beauty routine. It was a great mix of nourishing items for harsh winter weather and color products like the tinted lip balm and nail color to make you feel polished for the holidays. The jade roller was particularly nice to have. Excuse me, I need to go roll my face again. Order your December Mapleblume box asap here.
