I tease my friend Alyssa that whenever she buys a new pair of shoes, they just look like a newer version of all the pairs she already has. There are certain styles of clothing that I can’t seem to stop buying either even if to everybody else they look exactly like the last thing I bought, but I promise you, of course, that they’re very different. I buy a lot of lipsticks that are almost exactly my lip color, and I can’t resist clothes that incorporate leather in some way. Leather panels, leather trimming, leather collars, all leather, the list goes on. I love the contrast of the white leather trimming with the black leather panel on my Yigal Azrouel ensemble, and how the pieces are tied in together with my structured Sophie Hulme leather tote and Saint Laurent pumps. So what other leather pieces have I added to my closet lately? There’s my Theory leather and wool dress and J. Crew leather-paneled pencil skirt, and there’s a Club Monaco leather collar blouse and pencil skirt with leather piping that you’ll soon see on the blog.
