The trip was amazing and well worth the last minute craziness and change in plans. I appreciated the opportunity to visit one of my company’s biggest assets and to meet people I’ve only communicated with via email or phone.
Since I wasn’t going to a meeting straight from the plane, I didn’t need to be business formal, but I was meeting colleagues I had never met before and representing my company throughout the trip so I wanted to be presentable (so I couldn’t wear, say, sweatpants and a tank top).
What I wore on the flight there (shown above):
A grey Zoe Karssen tee via The Outnet that has turned out to be the perfect tee. It’s well cut, hangs well, and thin enough to drap nicely but thick enough not to be sheer. I want one in every color.
J. Brand high rise skinny jeans
J. Crew Collection cashmere sweater for when it gets chilly
Ferragamo flats – A pair of “formal” flats is a must-have (see bottom of post for my picks)
J. Crew Everly pumps – by accident! lol! They were in my purse from when I left work and I didn’t realize I had them until I checked in to my hotel. Did not get a chance to wear them lol.
My trusty Michael Kors carry-all tote, which held my passport, wallet, DSLR, Bloomsberg News (an inflight read that was much lighter than September issues of fashion magazines), Cake Beauty hand lotion, and sunglasses. (I carried my old trusty black Hamilton but this bicolor tote is on my wishlist)
On the flight back:
Zella live-in leggings – the best leggings ever. I wore this under my FR (fire resistant) pants all day then took the pants off and wore the tights on my flight home. I hated leggings before I found this pair because I thought they were all too thin and showed a little too much, you know what I mean? The Zella live-in leggings are thick and awesome. They’re great to wear when running outside in the fall and also to wear under dresses – I wore them under sweater dresses last Christmas in Europe.
Beauty products I packed:
Some of the beauty products I brought with me on the trip were already in the cosmetics bag that I carry in my purse, and the rest were products that I had used Monday morning so they were easiest to recall and pack. I think this list is a good representation of what I regularly use.
