It was a nice change to wear a full A-line skirt after wearing only pencil skirts. So much freedom and movement. I felt like twirling and riding sidesaddle. The Kate Spade bangle bracelet is one of my favorite purchases lately. It’s small enough to stay on my tiny wrist and goes with everything. Guys, this would make a great gift for your girlfriend/wife.

Over the weekend I took a Japanese pastry class with Reiko from Reikocakes and made sesame and Japanese sweet potato pound cake with sake syrup, pecan and dark chocolate pound cake, and strawberry and raspberry jam with rosewater. The jam was my favorite and I’ve been having it with pastries for breakfast every morning. I had no idea jam was so easy to make. I plan on boiling the fruits with a vanilla pod next time. At the end of the class Reiko made us Greek yogurt parfait using the jam we made and her homemade shortbread and served tea from Fauchon. It was a LOT of fun.
