Hello! How is everyone’s week going? I’m in Changchun right now and the temperature has suddenly taken a dive, which is great news for me because I packed for exactly this type of weather. My relatives phoned and WeChat-ed me nonstop about how cold it is over here before I got on the plane so I completely forgot about all the other destinations I might go to and packed like I was going on a ski trip. What I’m not ready for, unfortunately, is my trip to Guangzhou this Friday. Guangzhou is 30 deg C right now. One can say that I’m in the country where all the clothes in the world are made so I should not have any problem buying clothes for my trip but I’m in the north and all the stores I’ve been to have put away their summer line and only carry cold-weather clothes. If all fails, I will wear the Adidas shorts and Under Armour shirt that I packed just in case I felt like working out (I haven’t yet) until I buy the first skirt I see in Guangzhou.
I like this skirt and top combo because it’s a great transition weather piece and perfect for fall due to cozy fall fabrics like cashmere and wool. I’m particularly fond of the skirt, which my mom had lying around and I immediately borrowed. I love the fabric and texture – it would go great with boots too. How great is the concept of a tshirt made of cashmere? It’s like cashmere socks and cashmere sweatpants, supacool. Pimp-yo-casual-everyday-things. It’s warm, comfortable, and made of caaaaasshmere. I love the rolled up edges on the sleeves too, they’re such a cute touch.
By the way, did you guys know that Gilmore Girls is now on Netflix? Biggest Gilmore Girls fan, right here. I’ve seen every episode more than once but it never ever gets old. In fact, I think the show gets better each time you watch it and actually grows with you. Guys love the show too, they just won’t admit it. They’ll say “my girlfriend made me watch it” or “my sister and mom made me watch it”, but they’re secretly huge fans.
Have you heard of Mercy Ministries? Or Nancy Alcorn? Nancy Alcorn is the founder of Mercy Ministries and a huge inspiration to me. I’ve been a supporter of Mercy Ministries for several years and have two tickets to their Gala event this Thursday night where Nancy Alcorn will be speaking. I bought the tickets long before I booked my trip to China and won’t be able to attend. If you are interested, shoot me an email at jenny@stuff-i-love.com.
If you’re out on the road, feeling lonely and so cold… All you have to do is call my name and I’ll be there on the next train…
