I think this is the first time that I’m wearing flats on the blog. I’m sure my aunt in China will be very pleased to see this because she doesn’t think my usual footwear is of sound orthopedic design. I usually find flats to be quite detestable but I’m rather fond of the leopard pair that I’m wearing. They’re soft, cushioned, and nice to slip into. What I give up in height I gain in non-matronly comfort. I’m currently looking for well-made flats that come with a minor heel (~1 inch) that I can wear with dress pants and skirts to work. So far Ferragamo and J. Crew are at the top of my wishlist. We shall see.

I’m a really big fan of things that are either miniature or gigantic versions of other things. Gigantic things include big tennis balls, oversized tennis rackets, the large ping pong racket that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet used to play against Ariel Hsing, and 5lb gummy bears. Miniature examples include architectural models of buildings, to-scale model cars, and the Tory Burch “shrunken satchel” that I’m carrying. Isn’t it adorable? When I saw it online I squealed, but they were sold out of the mint color so I called the head office and had them tracked one down for me. The Dallas store had it in stock and so I called them and voila, it is now in my possession! It’s the cutest thing ever and holds everything I need to go out. The saffiano leather is beautiful and durable.
