Summer Weddings
Damon and I attended a beautiful outdoor wedding last month held in a botanical garden. It was on grass, as I’m sure a lot of outdoor weddings are, and guests were advised not to wear pointy heels that would sink into the grass. I wore a chunky heel but it was still a challenge walking on grass since the ground was uneven so I took off my shoes for most of the evening and borrowed my friend’s sandals to walk to the washroom.
Lesson learned: wear flat shoes. So the challenge then is to find a pair of flat sandals that are summery, cute, and not too casual. I think the Splendid Jody espadrilles fit the bill. They come with cute suede straps in a variety of summery pastel colors, they wrap around your ankles in a stylish and feminine way, and they’re flat! I found them very comfortable and very flattering.
Another recent purchase that I love is the Leith cold-shoulder dress that I’m wearing. I’ve linked to several pretty options below if it’s sold out.
What kind of shoes do you wear to outdoor weddings?
