The weather was quite nice last weekend so I was able to wear my new sweater dress with bare legs and flats. It was warm enough that we could even sit outside to drink our lattes without turning on the heat lamp. I think the outdoor heat lamp is a great invention, but every time I see one I wonder how it affects the thermodynamics of the Earth. The change in the temperature of the atmosphere and Earth is a function of heat transfer divided by its mass, which let’s say is a number approaching infinity compared to the rate of heat transfer. What happens if you turn on a heat lamp outdoors and leave it on forever and ever? Is there a finite change in the planet? What if all the discrete heat sources were added together? I remember driving in Edmonton during the winter and noticing that many apartment balconies had heat lamps. I even saw a man sitting outside on his balcony in the freezing cold with his heat lamp on, just chillin’ (hah sorry), with most of the heat from the lamp dissipating into the air. This type of open space, insulation-less heating always baffles my mind and I go a little crazy every time I encounter one, even while I’m sitting outside enjoying its warmth. Vancouver has been feeling quite brisk all of last week, so to survive the unheated portion of the outdoors, I shall wear boots and tights with this sweater dress, which speaks to the great versatility of sweater dresses. It’s the season for fewer bare legs and sexy motorcycles on the road, but more gorgeous coats and boots. Happy Fall!

I’m confused, I thought you were a winter colouring? and these are tones for late summer tone? (haha, seasonal color analysis fashion nerding)

Of course – I had a half sweet chai latte, one of my favorite drinks. More scientific than ever a.k.a. more nerdy than ever? Haha. Thanks for visiting!

Hi Ariel, thanks for your comment! Sorry I didn’t see it until now. Most American fashion boutiques do not have stores in Canada, so that’s a problem for me too, but I use a shipping/receiving business in Point Roberts, WA. and ship all of my online purchases there.
