While having brunch last Sunday my friend commented that my skin looked great. I was all, thank you so much, let’s hang out every day, want to move in with me? I mean, is there anything better to hear? I can think of two reasons why my skin has been looking compliment-worthy. One: sweat. I’ve been working up a sweat almost everyday running outside and playing sports. I’m sure that’s great for the pores (I’m sure there are hip hop songs about this, but probably not about the same type of physical activities). Two: Caudalie’s Vinoperfect line of products. I remember absentmindedly trying a sample of the Day Perfecting Fluid SFP 15 a year ago because it came in one of those monthly beauty subscription boxes. After I applied it for the first time I was like whoa. It sank in my skin right away, leaving no trace of moisturizer but smooth, soft, evenly toned, and healthy skin. I love how well my foundation went on afterwards and how flawless it looked at the end of the day. I used every last bit of moisturizer in that that sample tube. It’s the tiniest bit tinted, but not enough that you’d require color matching. It’s like 98% moisturizer and 2% tint, like the cotton/spandex ratio in a skinny jean that’s not quite in jegging territory but hugs your body just right. The most amazing part is that the effect lasts and lasts. It’s the best daytime moisturizer I’ve found yet.
I’ve been using the Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15 every morning since then (face, neck, and décolletage) and a couple of months ago I tried the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum when I redeemed for it with Sephora rewards (basically I tend to try things when they’re free). I didn’t care much for the consistency – it’s a thick liquid – and my skin didn’t absorb it right away but since it didn’t affect the application of my day cream I used it in my T-zone and in areas I thought needed more “radiance”. Cue shrug. About a week later when I went to apply concealer on a red mark left behind by a recent breakout I noticed it had all but completely faded. No concealer necessary. You have to understand – I scar from everything. Breakouts, scrapes, cuts, etc. and most of the time they never fade. I bought the full-size serum (I’ve been applying it to my artificial turf burn marks on my elbows and knees as well), the Vinoperfect Cell Renewal Night Cream, and the Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask (because synergy).
My favourite product of the line – and the daytime moisturizer that I’m totally obsessed with – is by far the Day Perfecting Fluid. I also love the Radiance Serum because of the results it’s delivered so far. I highly recommend both. I love this Caudalie duo pack that has a full-size serum plus a travel size Day Perfecting Fluid for just the price of the serum (also available here). Do you use anything from this line or brand?
