Throughout my pregnancy I’ve been adding to a wishlist on my phone whenever I come across baby products or recommendations that I like. We haven’t purchased many things yet (aside from some baby clothes and a Halo bassinet) because we’re still getting our space organized and don’t want to have too many things in our limited space just yet. However, I’ve done lots of research and know what I want to get for our baby. Here is a list of all the products on our wishlist and registry that we haven’t purchased yet in the over $100 category. I live in Vancouver, Canada, and stores with great inventory of baby goods are: Indigo Baby, Buybuy Baby, Well.ca (great customer service), and Amazon.ca. Maybe this will help you get your list started if you’re expecting, or help you pick out a gift for an expecting friend.
Stokke Sleepi Mini Crib (USA link) & Canopy – I love the oval shape of this crib, the canopy, and that it’s on wheels. It’s perfect for smaller spaces and doesn’t have to be right by a wall. When our daughter grows out of it we can buy the extension kit to continue using it. We purchased a Halo Bassinet to have right next to our bed, but we’ll need a crib eventually and I’m in love with this one.
Elvie breast pump – This is my top choice for breast pumps at the moment because it’s hands-free and discreet, but it’s not available in Canada so I’d need to get it shipped from the US. I have the Medela Harmony Manual Pump and the Haakaa breast pump on my Under $100 Wishlist (neither require a power source) while I decide on an electronic one.
Owlet Smart Sock Heart Rate/Oxygen Monitor & Baby Monitor (USA link) -The Owlet Smart sock tracks heart rate, oxygen levels, and sleep patterns, and gives new parents like us peace of mind. This bundle comes with a video monitor, which didn’t get the best reviews, so we might get the Owlet Smart sock on its own and go with a different camera system, which we haven’t researched yet. Any recommendations?
Stokke Tripp Trap chair (USA link) – This was recommended by sooo many moms. It grows with your child and converts from a high chair to a big kid chair. I also want to get the Stokke Clikk High Chair for travel because it looks so easy to put together and take apart and has great reviews.
Cybex Gazelle S Stroller with Cot – This is my top choice for stroller and bassinet at the moment. It has large wheels and was very easy to maneuver and adjust. It can be set up in multiple configurations and also comes with a very spacious removable shopping basket. I also love the Cybex Priam 3-in-1 travel stroller (the rose gold frame is so chic) but I can’t find the cot for it. Damon’s leaning more towards the “Vancouver Special”, which is the Uppababy Vista stroller with bassinet because the bassinet is rated for overnight sleep. Both the Cybex and Uppababy systems have the ability to become a double stroller. We haven’t picked a car seat yet, and we’ll wait until we are firm on a stroller so we can get a compatible car seat.
Arctic animal mobile – The hardest part was choosing which animals to get. I also love the alpaca mobile, ocean mobile, and panda mobile. They’re all so cute!
BabyBjorn Baby Bouncer (USA link) – There are so many baby bouncers on the market with varying levels of bells and whistles. Some of them move and bounce around like miniature amusement park rides. The BabyBjorn bouncer has good reviews, does not require batteries, and won’t be an eyesore in my house.
Snuggle Me Organic Lounger – This and similar versions of this appear in many newborn must-have lists. It’s meant to give the sensory experience of a hug when babies lie down in it. Where can I find one for adults?
Guadalupe Creations doll – All the dolls are handmade in Dublin and can be customized with a name. They are so beautiful!
Feeding Mama Signature Meal Plan – Feeding Mama is a Vancouver company that specializes in nourishing new mothers with delivered meals during the first 30 days of postpartum recovery. I talked about it in my post “My Favorite Local and BC Products“. The postpartum period is so important and I want to make sure I’m replacing all the depleted nutrients in my body and setting myself up for success. I ordered Feeding Mama’s Fertility Plan for two months in 2020 and it was great.
MaliaMu Raft Floor Cushion / Playmat – Another local Vancouver company, Malia Mu hand makes these darling braided products from bamboo that promotes sensory play. I’d love to have one for our daughter to play on.
Lovevery Playkit Subscription – This was highly recommended by other moms, and appeals to my interest in supporting my child’s development, hand-eye coordination, curiosity, and enriching her play time.
Reversible Playmat – I think baby and I will be spending a lot of time hanging out and playing on the floor, so a durable play mat that I can move around the house is essential. This reversible one goes with our decor.
My First Chair (USA link) – If our daughter is anything like me, she’ll love books. I hope to foster a love of reading and set up a little reading nook where she can read her books independently. These Pottery Barn “First Chairs” are adorable and can be personalized with her name.
Skip Hop Farmstand Playmat – also available here (USA link) – I love this farm and veggie-themed playmat! There are so many activities for babies to play with. They can be engaged on their back, during tummy time, and seated. I love all the cute vegetables and the variety of fun things they can engage with on the mat.
Handmade Quilt – I’ve become very interested in quilts lately and have a very specific idea of what I want. I want one in a farm, gardening or chicken related theme. The other night we had date night on Granville Island, and I walked by a quilt shop that I’d never noticed before called The Cloth Shop. It was closed but Damon couldn’t pull me away from the window. I’m expecting my old-age pension check any moment now. I found a woman on Etsy who makes them in adorable farm themes like this mama hen one, fruits and veggies one (very nostalgic for me because of all the fruit sizes associated with each week of pregnancy), and farmhouse themed one.
