A few weeks ago I posted my baby wishlist for items over $100. This list includes most of what is on our registry for under $100. We’ve slowly accumulated baby necessities from a combination of Facebook Marketplace, patiently waiting for sales, and gifts from generous friends. We’ve checked off several big ticket items so far such as the Uppababy Vista V2 stroller (this was Damon’s favorite and I’m glad we’ll have an extra bassinet), a Maxi Cosi Mico Max 30 carseat plus the adapter to fit it to our stroller, and a Stokke mini crib.
As for clothes, we’ve been gifted with many cute little outfits, both new and basically-new hand-me-downs thanks to friends, family and my very excited mom. I think our baby girl will be well clothed until she’s two lol. I can’t wait to organize them by size as we set up our nursery.
We’ve registered at several places to be able to either get a welcome gift or take advantage of the completion discount, but I think the best store to register at is Buybuy Baby, also known as Bed Bath & Beyond. Our registry there is the one we’ve been sharing with friends. Out of all the baby stores I’ve browsed and registered at, Bed Bath & Beyond has the best selection and brands and the easiest-to-use registry system. Just be aware that in Canada the website is bedbathandbeyond.ca, and in the US it’s buybuybaby.com.
Baby Wishlist – Items Under $100
Skip Hop Changing Pad – It shocks me how expensive changing pads are! But it’s not something I’m comfortable buying used. I also want to get Bamboo Quilted Waterproof Changing Pad Liners for when baby pees/poos during diaper changes (apparently they love doing this lol) and several of these disposal change mats.
Bumbo seat – I’ve seen this seat on a lot of must-have lists and a lot of Instagram videos.
Sleep Sheep Sound Machine Soother – a white sound machine sounds like the most unnecessary First-World thing, but after hearing from several moms that their babies sleep well with it, I’m…kind of influenced? Does it condition babies to sleep only with white noise? So many questions.
Loulou Lollipop Animal Farm Bandana Bibs – I love all farm-themed things. It will go nicely with the Skip Hop Farmstand activity gym that I bought.
Baby Uggs Boots – Damon will make fun of me but I just can’t resist!
Elodie Details Footmuff in Aviator Black – $199.96 marked down to $80! I love the cool aviator look.
Jellycat Brie – Jellycat makes the cutest stuffed animals in the shape of vegetables, plants, food, and animals. My first purchase after I found out I’m pregnant was a Jellycat Cauliflower.
VAVA Night Light – so I don’t walk into things in the middle of the night.
Baby Scale – I heard that during Covid having a baby scale is very handy because of the limited number of in-person medical visits, and also to weight your baby before and after a feed.
Ultrasound picture frame – It’s harder than I thought to find a multi-photo frame that fits ultrasound photos. The best one I found is this one because it doesn’t restrict you to a certain trimester, but it ships from the UK and the shipping cost is $$$.
Lamaze Mortimer the Moose – I love toys that contain different textures and sounds to keep babies engaged. I love the crinkly sounds they make (I guess they appeal to adults too? haha). They can be attached to play mats and strollers. I also want Captain Calamari and Freddie the Firefly (how great are their names?)
Loulou Lollipop Paris Swaddle Blanket & Loulou Lollipop Vancouver Quilt – I love these city map blankets and quilts of my favourite cities. Our friends got us these beautiful aden + anais swaddle blankets from our registry. So excited for all the softness!
Elodie Bamboo Pacifier, Dr. Brown’s PreVent Orthodontic Pacifiers – I love the pacifiers that are attached to an animal, like this cute llama pacifier. I’ve heard it helps the pacifier stay put.
Fridababy Disposal Underwear, Skims Nursing Bra, and Knix Leakproof Nursing Tank Top – I feel anxious about nursing and postpartum recovery, and it helps ease some anxiety to be as prepared as possible.
Dr. Brown’s Glass Bottle Set – My parents would kill me if I bought baby bottles in anything but glass because they’ve always talked about issues with plastic and other materials. I like that the Dr. Brown’s bottles are designed to be anti-colic and has good reviews.
Ducky Bath Wrap Towel – This is on my list purely for cuteness. Also on my list is the Parachute Hooded Baby Towel, which I’ve heard great things about.
Fridababy 8-piece Baby Grooming Kit – includes baby nail scissors and nail file so baby’s nails are trimmed and she doesn’t scratch herself.
Uppababy Changing Backpack – I should do a post just on changing backpacks because I’ve looked at SO many. I like that the Uppababy one straps to my stroller (and has the same fabric), includes a changing pad, and includes an insulated bottle case. Also, my bad, this one is over $100. This one and this one (on sale) are under $100 with a cooler and changing pad.
Melissa & Doug Giraffe – Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted a large standing giraffe. This giant giraffe is very similar and cheaper. I also love this Melissa & Doug Llama.
Skip Hop Smart Sling 3-Stage Tub and Skip Hop Moby Waterfall Rinser – A bathtub that can be used from the newborn stage and to when baby can sit upright. The rinser (so cute) helps provide an easy-to-hold tears-free rinse.
Loulou Lollipop Breakfast Bandana bibs – Cute bibs to catch all that cute drool.
Candylab Toys cars – Candylab Toy cars are sooo cute. I love the toy food trucks and accessories.
Medela Breast Milk Storage Bags – I got cross-eyed researching storage bags. The Medela storage bags got great reviews. If you used a type you love, please let me know.
Steele Laundry Bin – I really want a laundry bin from the Steele Canvas Basket Co because I love that it has our last name printed on it.
OXO Tot Space Saving Drying Rack – Looks better than the grass drying racks
Frida Mom Upside Down Peri Bottle – Another must-have for postpartum care.
Ergobaby Embrace Newborn Carrier – The Ergobaby Embrace carrier was recommended by our friends for wearing around the house (and the 360 for outdoor adventures).
