I had the pleasure of trying 100% Pure‘s newest skincare product, the Blood Orange Cleansing Balm, launching today. Citrus is my favorite scent of all time so of course I was VERY excited to get a blood orange scented product and I had a great time eating my photoshoot props afterwards. I love using cleansing balms/oils because they remove makeup very effectively, make my face soft in the process, and feels nice to be massaged into my face. Like all 100% Pure products, it’s 100% natural, cruelty-free, and free of synthetic chemical preservatives.
The Blood Orange Cleansing Balm is described as follows: “This delicious cleanser gently and effectively dissolves makeup. It purifies while it deeply nourishes and moisturizes your skin. Detoxifying blood orange refreshes while the organic oils of avocado, coconut and olive intensely softens and leaves skin glowing.”
Scent: Smells like happiness. It’s fresh and uplifting. I love citrus scents and this balm is exactly the type of smell I like. It contains blood orange essential oil, which you can definitely smell in the balm. The smell alone makes me look forward to applying it. I want this fragrance in a morning product and it makes me want to try 100% Pure Blood Orange Shower Gel and Blood Orange Whipped Body Butter.
Instructions: Warm up cleansing balm between fingertips and massage gently onto skin. Wipe away excess balm with a warm damp cloth or konjac sponge and rinse with warm water.
Thoughts: The first time I used this cleansing balm I massaged a generous amount on my face and tried to wash it off with just my hands and water. I’m used to cleansing balms that change texture when you add water, like an oil-to-emulsion, cream-to-oil, oil-to-foam, etc. This balm doesn’t change consistency and remains an oil, so it was difficult to wash off and I had oil left on my face afterwards. Knowing that the balm contains all natural ingredients that are good for my skin, I didn’t mind. I layered on a little bit of moisturizer and went to bed. The next morning my skin was soooo soft. My skin absorbed everything overnight and looked glowing and supple. The second time I used the cleansing balm I took it off with two damp cotton pads before washing it off. The cotton pads took off most of the balm along with all my makeup. I recommend following the instructions and using a konjac sponge, cotton pads, or cleansing cloth.
Conclusion: This one is a keeper! It has all the qualities I want in a cleanser (removes makeup and doesn’t strip my skin) plus the added benefits of nourishing and moisturizing oils. It made my skin soft, plump, and healthier looking and I loved smelling the fresh scent of blood orange as I massage in the balm. I recommend adding this to your beauty routine! Buy it here.
To get free shipping, I recommend adding two of my favorite 100% Pure products to your order: the Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream and the Cucumber Juice Cleansing Foam.

I’m hooked on cleansing balms since using the one by Goop – but it’s too expensive so this is a good one to know about!
